Welcome to Youth Ministry
Where you will find everything you need to know about student ministries at Cornerstone UMC.
As youth enter into adulthood, they are faced with issues daily that test their faith. Working together, we can build the values and journey through faith to help them remain committed to Christian teachings as they build their lives.
Youth Sunday School
At 9:30 a.m. classes are offered to those in grades 6—12. Junior High and High School youth meet in the Youth room at West Road. Classes center around issues relative and appropriate for these age groups, focusing on understanding and implementing Christ’s love in the day-to-day world.
United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF)
Junior and Senior High UMYF groups meet for special programs, missions, planning, recreation, community service and celebrations. They meet at 5:30 on Sunday evenings.
The students are immersed in Christian studies and fun activities to help them grow spiritually and understand their purpose as they learn to share their faith. This class is offered to youth 6th grade and older. At the end of the study, the students will be given the opportunity to profess their faith in Christ and become members of the body of Christ. The class meets weekly and also visits other churches. A retreat gives the students special time to bond and concentrate on their faith journey.
Mission Trips and Fellowship Outings
Our youth participate in mission work, which has included building houses, teaching Vacation Bible School and sharing God’s love. They also spend quality time sharing in devotionals during outings that build relationships with God and others.
