WE HOLD ON TO THE WRONG THINGS.  My house is full of stuff I can't get rid of--my old teddy bear, a ring Kevin gave me in college, my grandmother's gold bracelet--but that's not necessarily what I'm talking about.

I'm talking more about the things that hold on to us, too.  Things like jealousy, anger, temptation, pride that we let wrap around us so tight that God can't find a spot to get in.  It's not that He doesn't want to.  It's that we won't let go long enough to give Him a chance.  The hymn "Spirit Song" says, "Oh let him have the things that hold you and his spirit like a dove will descend upon your life and make you whole".  We hold on to the wrong things and, in doing so, miss out on the peace and wholeness of a life in Christ.

Let Him have those things.  Let Christ be the one that holds your heart today and every day.
